Rhinoplasty - nose job.
Where to get the surgery done and how to find the right surgeon ?

The optimum age for many plastic surgery operations and rhinoplasty is the period of 18 to 45 years. By 18, the cartilage tissue stops growing and the hormonal level returns to normal.
Whether long and turned-up, or curved and spoon-shaped, noses seldom suit their owners. People decide to have rhinoplasty to avoid cringing when they look at themselves in a mirror. Usually, these are women, since representatives of the stronger gender are not so fastidious about their noses. What must we know in order to be happy with the results of surgery?
People learned how to reshape the nose long ago. The doctors of ancient Egypt, China, and India successfully engaged in rebuild operations after combat injuries. The prime of rhinoplasty, however, as well as surgery in general, started following the creation of antibiotics and narcotic drugs. Rhinoplasty is resorted to following both medical and aesthetic indications. On rare occasions the nose is congenitally disfigured. More often it has to be reshaped after an injury. Occasionally, it happens, however, that a nose is out of the facial proportion or has a shape that doesn't suit the owner at all. Usually, the nasal features to be removed are aquilineness and bridge thickness.

Also, a nostril and wing shape is corrected as well as an unsightly nose tip. Depending on the scope, operations may affect both cartilage and bone tissue. This can be an open, endoscopic and laser-aided rhinoplasty, conchotomy (resection of hypertrophic nasal mucous membrane), columella surgery (nose column correction), grafting (to enlarge a very short or small nose), reconstructive septum rhinoplasty, etc. Whereas the tip plasty serves exclusively an aesthetic purpose and yields few complications, if at all, the septum rhinoplasty is one of the most challenging nasal operations. In addition to elimination of external defects, the surgeon straightens the nasal septum, improves the condition of the nasal meatus, and reduces the nasal resistance to airflow supplied to the organism.
The accreditation vary according to a country, but usually a good clinic is accredited by JCI, CQC, TUV or NCQA. Never neglect to check them.
The scope and type of operation have their national specifics. Slavic people, wishing to slim down a bulbous nose often seek an operation to reshape a nose tip, Far East natives usually go for augmentation rhinoplasty which imposes an artificial septum to enlarge the nose size, while representatives of the Middle East are often interested in rhinoplasty, which removes the nasal hump to make the profile straighter. Patients choose clinics in different countries depending on the complexity of the operation. In serious cases that need reconstructive septum rhinoplasty when the nasal cartilage is usually badly damaged, the defect has to be rectified by an auto-implant (a cartilage from one's own rib or similar matter) or a silicone equivalent. The patients who decide on the operation exclusively "for beauty's sake" often choose Turkey. The prices there are much more affordable while the quality of medical service is high. Clinics we work with have innovative medical equipment and are certified as per JCI, CQC, TUV or equivalent.
Often, the patients seek reconstruction following an unsuccessful operation after they had decided to economize by having a plasty at a small local clinic that may operate without international accreditation and certification.
The minimum cost of rhinoplasty in the UK is 4,500 pounds. The cost of surgical nose correction in Israel starts from 3,500 euros which is lower than in Germany or the UK, but higher than in Turkey. In Germany, the cost of classical rhinoplasty varies between 4 and 7 thousand euros. In Turkey one can get rhinoplasty for as little as 2,500 euros.
After the operation, the doctors usually prescribe anesthetics and antibacterial medications to prevent any possible infectious complications. Normally, the antibiotic treatment lasts a week or so. The patient must be prepared for puffiness and bluishness of the upper lip, cheeks and periorbital (around eyes) area. This is a typical phenomenon after rhinoplasty experienced by less than half the patients. These symptoms pass in 7 to 10 days.
For two months following the operation it is prohibited to sleep on the stomach and the side, wear spectacles, do sports, attend bathhouse and sauna, sunbathe, and swim in the sea and smoke. Food must be of room temperature. Getting back to the active lifestyle is allowed not sooner than in six months. No matter how plastic surgeons aim to help you all, there are certain counter-indications for rhinoplasty: oncological diseases; sugar diabetes; blood coagulation disorders; auto-immune diseases; general and nasal cavity infections.
