What is IHHT (CellGym)?

The Nobel Prize in Medicine 2019 has been awarded to William Kaeline Jr., Sir Peter Ratcliffe and Gregg Semenza for their pioneering research of how human cells adapt to changing levels of oxygen. This research helps explain the effectiveness of intermittent hypoxia hyperoxia treatment (IHHT).

The scientists discovered molecular mechanisms that enable cells to monitor oxygen content and then react to changes in oxygen levels. In particular, hypoxia triggers positive reactions which help the body to supply oxygen to all our organs.

Cellgym or IHHT (intermittent hypoxy-hyperoxy) therapy is an outstanding method to increase fitness and reduce susceptibility to illness at a cellular level. Our bodies are made up of 80 trillion cells. The power stations of these cells are the mitochondria.

They build Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), which is the chemical basis for all reactions and metabolic processes. Stress, age, lifestyle and pollution all damage the mitochondria overtime. This damage can lead to chronic diseases and functional disorders that typically start in the mitochondria.

IHHT combats and reverses the damage by cleaning your cells, eliminating the old and damaged mitochondria and building new mitochondria.
How it works
Reclining in a relaxed position in an armchair, you simply breathe in oxygen in different concentrations through a mask during the forty- five minute session. It is as simple as that and will be the most relaxing gym workout you have ever experienced.

A typical course of treatment requires ten sessions. Ideally this would consist of two to three sessions per week for a duration of four to five weeks. Alternatively, an accelerated course is available over a two week period. Once the initial course is completed in either of the methods described above.
An on-going cell maintenance program can be put in place that includes two or three sessions per month. If needed this can be repeated every couple of years. There are no contra- indications but you should not have IHHT while you suffer from acute infections e.g. flu like symptoms.
Which Conditions Does IHHT Treat or Help Prevent?
*It is widely assumed that many chronic and lifestyle diseases are associated with damaged mitochondria
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
Asthma / COPD
Weight gain
Hypertension and cardiovascular disease
Musculoskeletal conditions
Chronic headache
Recurrent infections
Fertility problems
Type 2 diabetes
